Liverpool Museum Pier Head Liverpool England a 'must Visit' put it on your list of places to go Free entry super short Films Documentaries ART history everything and more to do with Liverpool
Of course I am Biased as I was born and raised in Liverpool but I suppose I was a Frog in a Pan not realising I was living in History.
Pretty much protected whilst growing up with Victorian Grandparents(I did manage to squeeze a Beatles guitar Out of them one Christmas) It is only recently I have begun to understand the city and it's amazing cultural History of which my ancestors were part of as Ship-wrights and Tea importers in the 19th Century

Time In Liverpool 2
Time In Liverpool 2 a video by Steve J O'Brien on Flickr.
Hi well haven't been on my Blog for a while, due to work and play
Last week I was studying TIME-LAPSE Photography So with my TOSHIBA Camileo S30 I ventured off to Liverpool.
This Video is an opportunity I took whilst In The new Liverpool Museum at the Pier Head.
One of my Photographs has been chosen for exhibition later this year I belive it will be part of a film showing the development of the Albert Dock Site over the last few years.
Anyway I digress I set up the Video Camera on my Large Tripod checked the setting (1 frame per second) and let the Camera do the rest, I in fact was guarding the tripod as I was in a play area in the Museum where large Foam Blocks with drawings of the Liver and other building are available for the kids to build after a while they realise putting the last block on top is the parents if the kids try it all falls over which is why I spent the hour or so gently kicking the blocks away from my tripod.
So this little film of an hour at the Liverpool Ferry Terminal is the result. I added music in Windows Movies maker the uploaded a longer version to YOUTUBE .
Flickr sadly only allows 90seconds of Video.
So there you have it the nice little TOSHIBA Camileo S30 I bought off E-BAY for a knock-down price has given me the bug to do more of this type of work Last night I was running through various locations in my Head which would look interesting
Have a great day
Steve

Giant Tour Of North Wales
Not to lounge about at home watching Movies etc, no I got Out about 0630 With the intention Of Cycling To Eccleston just outside Chester.
On the way Home From Work I sometimes pass the sign Eccleston 2 miles, well with plans to do the Liverpool Trip in Mind as well I realised with no spare Tube It would be dangerous to go that way abot 10 miles from home was ok with me this Morning.
So made some extra sandwiches, another Water bottle, oh and The Canon 40D and 50mm Prime I was off, well got to Handbridge the usual way Cycling past Airbus on My Giant XR2 Roam there is was the sign turned right and got to Ecclestone http://www.ecclestonvillage.co.uk/3.html The Church would be Missed from the road but Turn Left and left again and there it is I didn't have enough Space with the 50mm to take in the whole Church so It was the spire through some Tree branches for effect, I used this effect with most of the Churches I saw today.
So onward from Eccleston Village Towards Rossett The the Magnificent Church at Gresford one of the seven wonders of Wales http://www.allsaintsgresford.org.uk/ Again you can Drive straight past this Church Turn right at the lights follow the road to the end, past the Beautiful Village Pond on the Left and there it is in all it's glory (Hidden by trees of course)
So after Leaving Gresford I saw the sign Wrexham and thought why not hadn't been to St Giles for a while got to the City a found St Giles Open but under Repair (Thankfully I was allowed to take some shots)http://www.wrexham.gov.uk/english/heritage/wrexham_town_waslk/st_giles.htm Whilst I was in the Church I noticed I Cross made by a guy from Ellesmere So I asked the vicar how far it was '16 Miles' Right that's about an hours ride I said. But leaving Wrexham I took the wrong Road and ended up on the Oswestry/Llangollen A483 been to both places before so as Llangollen was closer I headed That way.
You Pass Trevor http://www.ukattraction.com/north-wales/pontcysyllte-aqueduct.htm as it was summer there seemed a lot going on so Turned Left off the Llangollen Road and Had Lunch At Trevor.
I was told the Tow path from Trevor connected with Llangollen so I tested the Giant XR2 and it passed it's test a super ride along the Canal great scenery .
Got To Llangollen http://www.llangollen.org.uk/ took a few shots and was so pleases when finding out the Llangollen Railway was Open http://www.llangollen-railway.co.uk/page.php?id=1 wondered around for a while taking a few shots here and there when the train Turned up Full of passengers it was amazing I managed to take a quick shot of the Engineer as Posted below.
Well had a few chats with people got my picture took (my camera) Decided It was time to go as I was about 4-5 hours back to Flint.
Took the Giant XR2 up the Horseshoe Pass http://www.llangollen.org.uk/en/10_Wonders_of_Llangollen_/The_Horseshoe_Pass, I had dome the Pass Before but Riding down not up and it was on my old 10 Gear Tourer not the 27 gear Giant xr2
So set myself up for the ride if you are wondering why you need 27 gears try cycling up here :)
Got to the top and sat foe a while admiring the view over a sandwich.
So it was off again this time to Ruthin http://visitruthin.com/ Agian been here before but trashed my pics and it was a nice opportunity to take some more .
A couple of Soft Drinks later I was off to Mold I recall this ride before and wasn't looking for ward to it.
It worked out fine again the Giant XR2 27 Gears and lock-out forks worked really well Arrived in Mold in Good Time http://www.visitmold.com/ For the onward ride to Flint http://www.fflint.co.uk/ and Home .
Funny Writing It all Down Like This Brings back The recent Memory Great Day

Was my choice
Scotland Again
Now as far as Edinburgh is Concerned this was my Third Visit, my first way back in 1980 don't recall much about it as I was in a bar most of the evening:0
The Second Trip I took the company Car Stayed over for the business trip, but the hotel's meal booking system was broken so I ended up in Burger king which was fine by me. except it was winter wet miserable and I was on my own it was that bad a Tile from a building narrowly missed me if you Know Edinburgh you will understand my terror those building are blooming high, you don't have to be a Physicist to work out this if it had hit me I may not be writing this
Now back yesterdays adventure, With 2 hours to so to waste whilst I waited for the Train back south I walked around the City with the Canon 40D as you know by now I only Have a 50mm Prime (I say only very lightly cause it's a fab lens) Well after a few street shots buildings taking a 30sec Movie with my Pentax Optio I eventually ended up in The Scottish National Gallery here's the Link http://www.nationalgalleries.org/collection/online_home/4:315/
It was an amazing and emotional visit I was moved to tears seeing such wonderful works of art and so well presented, you are asked to carry by hand any back-back so as not to damage the Pictures (This gives you an idea of how close you can get to the exhibits.
I have been to both Liverpool & Manchester Galleries but as you cab expect this in Edinburgh was just head and shoulders above can you imagine being right next to a Rubens, Franz Halls, Van Dyke and seeing their Brush strokes!
Or a Sir Joshua Reynolds the Reynolds was the one that did it for me it was a good job Photography wasn't allowed I wouldn't have been able to Hold my Camera Steady here is the Picture http://212.20.233.42/index.php/collection/online_az/4:322/results/0/5360/
Well That's about it for now signing off to watch a Movies On Film 4
